A Dynasty Built in Crimson

Alabama football is the standard by which all others are measured. Playing since 1892, the Crimson Tide has accumulated more national championships than any program in the modern era, including a dynasty under Nick Saban that redefined what dominance looks like.

The program claims 18 national championships (most all-time), with six coming in the Saban era alone (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020). Alabama has sent more players to the NFL than any other program — NFL Drafts are practically Alabama alumni reunions.

The Crimson Tide's roster of legends spans generations, from Bear Bryant to Derrick Henry, and the standard they set has never wavered.

🏆 18 National Championships
Bear Bryant
Head Coach · 1958–1982
The most iconic figure in college football history. Six national titles at Alabama, 232 wins, and a legacy so towering the stadium bears his name. Bear didn't just coach — he defined an era.
Nick Saban
Head Coach · 2007–2023
Built the greatest dynasty in modern college football. Six national titles, fourteen SEC championships, and a standard of excellence that transformed Alabama into the gold standard of the sport.
Joe Namath
Quarterback · 1961–1964
Broadway Joe began in Tuscaloosa. Led Bama to a national title, became a cultural icon, and delivered the most famous guarantee in Super Bowl history.
Derrick Henry
Running Back · 2013–2015
Won the 2015 Heisman Trophy. A physical force like no other — his runs at Alabama were must-see television and a preview of the NFL freight train he'd become.
Don Hutson
End · 1932–1934
Widely considered the first great wide receiver in football history. Before the NFL had him as a Hall of Famer, he was terrorizing opponents in Tuscaloosa.

The Traditions

Alabama isn't just a team — it's a set of rituals, sounds, and moments that make game day unlike anything else in college sports.

🐘
Big Al
Alabama's beloved elephant mascot. Big Al has been charging the sidelines since 1979, pumping up the crowd and representing one of college football's most recognizable mascot traditions. The elephant connection dates back to a 1930 headline describing the Tide's power.
🎵
Yea Alabama
The official fight song of the Crimson Tide. Written in 1926, it's the sound of victory at Bryant-Denny. You'll hear it on every third-and-short, after every score, and stuck in your head for days. Know the words — you'll need them.
🏈
The Walk of Champions
Before home games, the team walks from the Ferguson Center to Bryant-Denny through thousands of cheering fans. It's electric, personal, and pure Alabama. Show up early enough to be part of it.
🔴
Rammer Jammer
Sung after a victory, the Rammer Jammer chant is the ultimate sign of triumph in Tuscaloosa. Directed at the opposing fans, it's loud, proud, and unmistakably Bama. You earn the right to sing it by winning.
🥁
Million Dollar Band
Founded in 1912, Alabama's marching band earned its nickname when the team needed their instruments. A beloved staple of every game day, they set the tone in Bryant-Denny and are a tradition as old as modern Tide football.
🏆
Championship Culture
At Alabama, winning isn't an aspiration — it's the expectation. Fans hold every team to the standard set by Bear Bryant and reinforced by Nick Saban. That culture of excellence permeates everything about being a Bama fan.
